Message from the President

2026 marks the first year of transformation for the JAL Group under our new management vision. At JAL Engineering (JALEC), we have consistently fulfilled our mission to safeguard the safety of Japan's skies, grounded in the technical prowess developed over more than 70 years of maintenance and in our organization spanning airports across Japan, including Tokyo, Narita, and Osaka.

In this era of rapid change, we have launched "Maintenance Vision 2035" as our strategic compass for shaping the future. This vision sets forth three challenges: "mastering JAL Group maintenance operations," "expanding our contracted MRO business," and "pioneering next-generation infrastructure such as space and air mobility."

The foundation for these efforts is the unwavering commitment to safety and quality, built upon our immutable "Zero-Zero-100" spirit. With that foundation, we will drive a transformation toward predictive and preventive maintenance by leveraging digital transformation (DX) and AI.

At the same time, addressing the global challenge of reducing CO2 emissions and passing on a thriving planet to future generations is an urgent imperative.

Each and every employee is the protagonist of this transformation and challenge. To fulfill this mission, it is essential that our employees and their families are healthy in mind and body. To safeguard the safety of worldwide skies, each employee must practice health management daily and demonstrate peak performance to provide world-class aircrafts. Accordingly, we actively engage in health support initiatives for our employees and their families.

The below measures are being promoted based on the Transformation of People and Workstyles initiative in JAL Engineering's Mid-term Management Plan and the JAL Wellness 2025, JAL Group's health promotion program.


  1. 1. Appoint a wellness leader in each workplace to act as a driving force, who fosters a culture that actively and jointly promotes health.
  2. 2. Establish five priority areas, namely lifestyle-related diseases, cancer, mental health, tobacco control, and women's health, and plan and communicate events and seminars accordingly.
  3. 3. Ensure total participation of our employees in annual health screening programs. In addition, analyze the results of the annual health surveys and stress checks to provide individualized health support for each employee.
  4. 4. Create a more comfortable work environment through both hardware and software initiatives, including promoting diverse workstyles such as flextime and remote work, transforming workspaces, and improving operational efficiency by leveraging external resources and IT.
  5. 5. From the perspective that health management requires support tailored to each individual, enhance and publicize existing health contact points related to health consultations and mental health, and rebuild an environment that makes it easier to seek consultation.

Work-life Balance Support and Promotion of Women's Empowerment

JAL Engineering has been certified under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Kurumin (2022) and Platinum Kurumin programs, which recognize child-rearing support companies. We are actively fostering a workplace environment that facilitates parenting for all employees, regardless of gender.
As part of creating an environment where diverse talent can work with confidence over the long term, we are promoting the retention and career development of female employees with the aim to be a company where women can work vibrantly.
