Current duties
I work on the development of new inflight entertainment systems and devise measures to improve quality so that failures do not occur during daily operations.
Providing a more comfortable cabin
When purchasing new aircraft or renovating aging interiors, we build cabin specifications from the ground up, from seats, lighting, in-flight entertainment, among others. As engineers, we reflect considerations in the design after discussing with airframe and component manufacturers on how to best translate customer requirements into high-quality solutions and how to make maintenance easier.

Development with manufacturer engineers often presents challenges, particularly due to differences in culture and language, but the sense of purpose is all the greater, and the satisfaction upon completion is exceptional.
Striving for uncompromising quality
Aircraft operate under harsh conditions such as extreme temperature changes, vibration, among others. Thus eliminating glitches is close to impossible. Maintenance engineers detect early signs of trouble and act before they develop into full-scale failures. We, as engineers, create environments that facilitate maintenance and work with manufacturers to investigate root causes and implement countermeasures to prevent failures from occurring.

If the same issue arises at other airlines, our efforts can contribute to improving their quality as well, giving a positive impact to the aviation industry.
A message to aspiring engineers
After roughly ten years of working as a maintenance engineer, I transferred to my current division and became an engineer.
At first, when faced with various problems, I struggled to figure out how to solve them. That is when my supervisor advised me to "go to the site and work with the maintenance engineers." At the field, by receiving advice from maintenance engineers who had actually dealt with the failures, I arrived at ideas I never would have conceived only at a desk. I believe solving problems requires viewing things from multiple angles. Knowledge and experience from different areas can connect in unexpected ways.
Please stay curious and take on new challenges.
