Leveraging the advanced technical capabilities cultivated as the maintenance division of an airline, JAL Engineering provides maintenance tailored to customer needs across a wide range of fields. We are certified by multiple aviation authorities and undertake line maintenance, base maintenance and carry out engine maintenance and component maintenance for over 50 customers in Japan and overseas. Hence, we contribute to the aviation industry in Japan and around the world.
We provide maintenance services around the clock at our bases in Haneda, Narita, and Osaka, as well as at hub airports. Our highly trained and experienced engineers deliver maintenance services including log release, technical support, engine changes, and AOG recovery.
With primary bases in Haneda, Narita, and Osaka, we support the JAL Group and Japanese airlines. We also perform structural repairs, nondestructive inspections, and airframe painting for customers operating business jets, small aircraft, and helicopters.
At our Engine Maintenance Center adjacent to Narita International Airport, we perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, assembly, and test runs on a variety of aircraft engines. We also provide nacelle maintenance.

We provide maintenance for repairable components, such as landing gear, brakes, movable surfaces, flight-control computers, instruments, and actuators, as well as supply services for consumables and chemicals. We also perform TAB checks on radio equipment for customers operating business jets, small aircraft, and helicopters.
In addition, we offer failure-prediction services utilizing big data to further improve equipment quality.
We perform nondestructive inspection (NDI) in compliance with NAS410, the U.S. aerospace standard. Our experienced inspectors are qualified to Levels 1, 2, and 3, and conduct NDI for many types of aircraft, including business jets, helicopters, and small aircraft.
We also provide on-the-job training (OJT) in fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) to support qualification and certification of inspectors engaged in NAS410-compliant NDI.
We offer a variety of analysis and diagnostic services, including metallic debris analysis, fracture surface analysis and hydraulic fluid testing by drawing on know-how accumulated in aircraft maintenance.
JAL Engineering is designated by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as an Aviation Personnel Training Facility. Experienced instructors conduct training using well-equipped facilities, instructional materials, and training devices that leverage the latest technologies, to nurture maintenance engineers with deep knowledge and advanced skills.
We also offer training on quality assurance essential for maintenance engineers and educational programs to prevent human error.

Since the introduction of Boeing 747, the first government aircraft, JAL Engineering has supported numerous mission flights by handling heavy airframe maintenance, engine maintenance, and component maintenance. Today, we continue to support activities of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force by applying our accumulated expertise, including engine maintenance for transport aircraft.
